Venus Bay Eco Retreat is an adults only nature retreat with one self contained cottage. The cottage has an open plan lounge and dining area with well equipped kitchenette, a modern bathroom, sheltered deck and an open plan bedroom loft. The cottage is ideal for couples or a single and sleeps a maximum of two adults. Please note we do not accept bookings with children or infants.

The cottage is reverse cycle air conditioned with grid connected solar power. The lounge has comfortable couches, IPod dock, CD player, flat screen DVD (not connected to TV) and original art works by Australian contemporary artists. Free WIFI is available 24/7 at nearby Venus Bay Community Centre (6kms).

The bedroom loft is a cosy hideaway with carpet underfoot and screened windows for fresh air circulation. Beds available are: One queen bed in the open plan loft.

The bathroom features a free standing bath with private bush land view, a separate walk in shower, heated towel rail, toilet and vanity and a generous supply of rainwater.  Organic cotton towels and bath sheets, Australian botanical shampoo, conditioner, hand & body wash and essential oils air freshener are provided.

The cottage is cleaned with care using organic essential oils and earth friendly products. Nature’s organic essential oils have extremely effective sanitizing properties, and their beautiful aromas are an added bonus. During the Covid-19 pandemic we are committed to following industry guidelines for deep cleaning and we allow a minimum of 48 hours between bookings. Because of these requirements commercial sanitizing products will be used. Please let us know in advance if you are sensitive to these products as we can adjust for individual bookings.

We use and provide ethically produced, certified organic products and are committed to reducing the use of chemicals in the environment. Our products are not tested on animals and where possible are Australian grown and produced.

What to bring with you

• Solid footwear for outdoors at all times of the year.
• Slippers or soft shoes for indoors as shoes are removed inside the building.
• Sunscreen, hat, torch, binoculars for viewing wildlife.
• If you would like to enjoy an outdoor campfire in winter months please bring your own firewood. Convenient packs of firewood are available from Tarwin Lower (13km) and Venus Bay village (6km).

We are proud to support sustainable tourism. 

• Food scraps are separated for on site composting.
• We request guests take rubbish and recycling with them as we do not have a rubbish collection service to the property.  Plain paper, card board, newspapers, cans, glass and plastic types 1, 2 & 3 can be recycled.
• We ask guests to support initiatives to reduce single use plastics by bringing your own reusable food containers. 
• Our generous supply of rainwater is safe to drink, there is no need to purchase bottled water for your stay.
